What AreVeneers?

One of Dr. Brennan's favorite ways to create the smile of your dreams is with veneers. These are either made with a porcelain/ceramic material or with direct composite.  We craft these veneers to restore both beauty and function.

Veneers only cover the front part of the tooth. Gum recontouring is a procedure that usually is accompanied with veneers to enhance the appearance of your smile. When creating custom veneers, Dr. Brennan pours every ounce of training, experience, and artistic vision into creating a smile that represents YOU in every sense of the word.

The Veneers Process

  • Non-Invasive Direct Composite Veneers – Direct Composite Resin Veneers are a non-invasive treatment option that improves the look and function of a single tooth or an entire smile. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your smile goals so we can make a personalized plan fit for you! Dr. Brennan will begin by cleaning and polishing the surface of your natural teeth and preparing them with finely powdered air which allows the material to bond to the tooth. A composite resin is then directly bonded to the surfaces of the tooth, and then shaped and polished to achieve a beautiful and natural-looking shine.
  • Porcelain/Ceramic Veneers – We use minimal-prep empress/e.max veneers, which often require some prepping of the front and chewing surfaces of the tooth. Dr. Brennan will begin your smile transformation with the initial consultation where we discuss what your goals are. Dr. Brennan will then scan your teeth and create the veneers in-house the same day. If you are doing multiple teeth, sometimes a second day is needed to complete them. Once you approve the look and feel of the veneers, she will bond them to your teeth, polish everything, and send you home to enjoy your brilliant new smile.

Benefits of Direct Composite Veneers

Non-Invasive

This material can enhance the structural strength and appearance of natural teeth. It is applied in a way that generally requires NO “shaving down” or removal of enamel to accommodate the material (unlike most porcelain veneers). This means that you get to keep the structure and integrity of your underlying natural tooth/teeth intact.

Benefits of Direct Composite Veneers

ADEQUATELY STRONG

This material is about as strong as your natural enamel. Any forces or habits that can damage natural tooth structure (trauma, grinding, clenching, etc.) can also potentially damage this material. However, if any repairs or maintenance are needed, as they are with natural teeth, they can easily be made without having to redo the entire veneer.

Benefits of Direct Composite Veneers

Longevity

The maintenance of composite veneers is similar to taking care of your natural teeth. Just as you would have your natural teeth professionally cleaned and polished on a regular basis, we recommend that you do the same with your composite veneers. We will clean them at your regular dental appointments to ensure they stay healthy and luminous!
